Audio to Prompt: Get the Prompt Behind Any Song, Voice or Sound
Everyone else starts from a blank prompt box. Audio to Prompt starts from a sound that already works. Upload a song, a jingle, a voiceover, a sound effect or the soundtrack of an ad you admire, and get the prompt behind it, written the way a producer or a casting director would brief it. Then open the music, voice or sound effect generator with that prompt already in and make your own.
How It Works
- Add the sound. Upload an audio file, record from your microphone, or upload a video and we read its soundtrack.
- We work out what it is. Every file is classified as music, a voice, a sound effect, or a mix of voice, music and sound, and read the way that kind of sound should be read.
- Get the prompt. It is weighted by what makes this sound distinctive: we show what a generator would make from a one-line description of it, and exactly where this one departs from that.
- Make your own. One click opens the AI Music Generator, the AI Voice Generator or the AI Sound Effects Generator with the prompt filled in, or saves it to your library.
What You Get for Music
- A full music prompt in plain words that works in any music model
- Genre, mood, instruments, vocals and energy
- The structure with timestamps: intro, verses, choruses, bridge, drops and outro
- Production notes: the mix, the space and the era of the sound
- Tempo in BPM and the musical key, measured from the audio by signal processing, not guessed by the AI
- Lyric themes, point of view and rhyme scheme, never the words themselves
What You Get for a Voice
- The voice described: gender, age, accent, pitch, pace, energy, tone and delivery
- The closest voices in our voice library, with the reasons each one matches
- One click to design a new voice with the same qualities in the AI Voice Generator
What You Get for a Sound Effect
- A prompt for the whole sound, plus each layer on its own (the hit, the tail, the room) so you can make one part at a time
- Whether it loops, so ambience comes back as a seamless bed
Start From Something That Already Works
- Ad soundtracks: read the music and the voiceover of an ad that performs, then make an original version for your own brand.
- Sonic branding: turn the jingle or sonic logo you keep humming into a brief for one that belongs to you.
- Video creators: find the mood, tempo and instruments of the bed under a video you like, and make one cut to your edit.
- Voice casting: describe a voiceover's age, accent and delivery, then pick a matching voice or design a new one.

- Video: MP4, MOV and WebM, and we read the soundtrack

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it copy the song or the voice?
No. It describes qualities: genre, era, instruments, structure and production for music, and age, accent, pace and delivery for a voice. It never names an artist, a song or a speaker, and never writes out lyrics. What you make from the prompt is original.
How do you get the tempo and the key?
We measure them from the audio itself with signal processing rather than asking an AI to guess, because AI models are good at describing music and poor at counting it. If a track has no steady beat or no clear key, we say so instead of inventing one.
What does it cost?
2 AI Credits up to 3 minutes, 3 up to 6 minutes and 4 up to 10 minutes, priced by the length of the file. If the read fails, the credits are refunded.
Can I read the soundtrack of a video?
Yes. Upload an MP4, MOV or WebM and we read its sound: the music bed, the voiceover and the effects. To reverse the picture as well, use Video to Prompt.
Which generators does the prompt work in?
Any. The prompt describes the sound in plain words rather than one platform's syntax, so it works in our music, voice and sound effect generators and in any other model you use.
